Name: Christie Holt
Occupation: Web Author at SeaLeft Software
First Appearance: Cubes semimonthly strip #8

Bio:
Christie was a student at the University of Gray Lassie where she studied for her Bachelor of Science in Computer Science with a focus on applied multimedia, combining her interest in computers with her artistic skills. As part of her program, this mouse became a temporary co-op student at SeaLeft Software.

After finishing her co-op semester, Christie was offered a part-time job by Ralph Black which she readily accepted. At first her naivete was the source of much amusement to her coworkers, particularly Frank and Max. Now she's "one of the gang", participating in the various office pranks that occur.

Her coworkers are always impressed at her artistic abilities and it was this that led Max to approach her with the idea of creating their own office comic strip. With Christie's drawings and Max's writing the two produce the popular Spheres strip for the amusement of their friends and colleagues.

After Veronica Teyl took over management of SeaLeft Software, she approached Christie to reevaluate the product's wesbsite. Veronica later offered full-time employment to Christie once she graduated. Christie accepted and transitioned into the role of web author for SeaLeft, although she still helps out with some of the software development as needed.

Behind-the-scenes:
Naivete and inexperience are great traits to have in a character in a humorous setting. When an inexperienced character encounters the day-to-day bizareness of the working world it just amplifies the comedic aspects of that situation. Christie was added to the cast of Cubes for exactly this reason.

Christie was first introduced into the strip as a co-op student. Since Cubes is an evolving strip that observes the passage of time, it became necessary after a few months to create another strip that explained why she was still part of the cast. Strip #21 has the distinction of being the first Cubes strip that was actually required because of what had happened in a previous strip.
