After leaving the industry to pursue other interests, Hope was contacted by Ralph with a job offer: to become the new software trainer and technical writer for SeaLeft. Hope jumped at the opportunity. Her energy and rapier wit quickly won over her new colleagues.

Outside of work, Hope enjoys physical activities like running and hiking. She has found an eager partner in such things with Frank Retruf.

Hope is also an amateur videographer. She's offered her skills in filming important events for a number of her coworkers. She delights in editing out mistakes in the videos she records. Her slogan is. "Making your perfect moment that much more perfect."

Behind-the-scenes:
Hope entered the Cubes strip in the latter half of its fourth year, partly at the insistence of various readers. Hope's character was carefully designed to fit well and provide opportunities to show new or little explored sides of the existing cast. Her last name "Calers" is a minor anagram on "Scaler" for a person who climbs, implying a character that enjoys outdoors physical activities.
