[F. L. Ine]

Name: Fremont L. Ine
Occupation: Business Man, Crime Boss
First Appearance: Hot Dog, Canine Defender of the Innocent issue #1

Bio:
A self made cat, Fremont Ine clawed his way to the top of the corporate ladder through his killer business instincts. The various industries under Fremont's control provide jobs for most people in the city of Gray Lassie.

Having long since passed the point where money matters to him, Fremont turned his formidable intellect to the challenges posed by a life of crime. Safely ensconced in his palatial estate, Fremont fears no one in the city, not even Hot Dog, Canine Defender of the Innocent.

Despite his criminal activies, Fremont maintains a public image of a respectable business man and upstanding citizen of the city of Gray Lassie. Through his parent company Ine Industries, he has purchased many smaller companies and subsidiaries, including SeaLeft Software.

Behind-the-scenes:
Fremont Ine was one of the earliest creations after the character of Hot Dog. Stereotypically the natural enemy of a dog is a cat, which is how Ine came about (interestingly one of the best friends of Hot Dog's alter ego, Frank, is also a cat - Max Tomson). F. L. Ine is an obvious take on the word "feline", but the character wasn't actually named until the first Hot Dog issue was being written. Fremont was always intended to be the villain so big that Hot Dog couldn't really do anything to him.
