Bio:
Corporealized from the cast-off remains of problematic and failed projects at SeaLeft Software, Stan has taken up residence at SeaLeft Software as an office ghost. Stan's destructive tendencies lead him to play various pranks on the other employees. However, Stan is quick to defend his colleagues from any outside interference, seeing them as his to mess with exclusively.

In order to channel his energy into something more productive, Ralph Black and Veronica Teyl, the bosses at SeaLeft, decided to make Stan the lead software tester. Stan takes great delight from finding bugs in the developers' code and enjoys breaking the systems they create.

Stan has moved through several residences within the SeaLeft Software offices. He started in a paint can in the office closet, moved to a recycling bin while the office was being remodelled, and has ended up in his own apartment above The Testing Zone Tower.

Stan discovered a talent for photography, a hobby he takes very seriously. When his project manager Karen Andinus was planning her wedding, Stan approached her to offer his services. Despite some misgivings concerning Stan's destructive tendencies, Karen gave Stan a chance. He proved to be the most professional person at Karen's wedding.

Behind-the-scenes:
Stan was the first character of the Cubes semimonthly strip that was created after the strip actually started. A series of Stan-like ghosts had been created as various Halloween themed editions of office whiteboard art. One of the pictures involved a ghost invading a computer monitor to wreak havoc. Several people suggested that a similar character be put into the Cubes strip, which led to his addition to the cast.

Stan has evolved away from his initial roots as an agent of chaos. The original conception of the character didn't fit in well with the friendlier nature of the rest of the cast. Over the years Stan has changed from being outright malicious to a more benign cluelessness about things around him and the consequences of his actions.
