Cubes - Issue 6
Farewell, My Muse

Introduction
One of them will be gone from SeaLeft Software...forever.

Such is the tag line for the latest full length Cubes comic story. Cubes has been running for eight years now, but this story's central idea of a character leaving has been bubbling away since the end of the first year of the comic. It is only now that the characters have grown to a point where this thread can be followed.

And speaking (or writing) of threads, this comic intertwines a good number that have been in development for some time. We see the culmination of Sly Filcher's austerity measures for SeaLeft. We see Max's success as a writer. And we see where Christie and Max have arrived at after all their troubles over the previous year.

The origins of these threads go back quite a way. It was first hinted that Max was trying to be a writer way back in year 3 of the comic strip. Christie and Max's relationship has been morphing and changing from learner/mentor, to friends, to whatever it is now, and now on to something that will change both of them from this point forward. And Sly? Sly, sly, sly. What can be said about him save that I have had the fortune of never having known a Sly myself but knowing that they do exist out there.

This comic is an ending for one and, by extension, for all. But many endings are also new beginnings. And always keep in mind, some ideas have been in the planning for years.
