[Honey Klim] Honey Klim

[Honey Klim]

Name: Honey Klim
Occupation: General Manager at SeaLeft Software
First Appearance: Cubes semimonthly strip #49

Bio:
The budgie Honey Klim was once a Sharkspearean actress of some renown who worked alongside some of the greats including Gareth Flect. Tiring of the acting lifestyle, she became a project manager for hire for various companies in the City of Gray Lassie. Her approach to project management was rather unorthodox but renowned for achieving impressive results.

At one point, Honey was brought in to SeaLeft Software as a contractor. The company had just won a large contract, but didn't have the animal-power to manage everything. Miss Klim's job was to manage this large project, which took roughly a year to complete.

Honey introduced various reforms in the SeaLeft Software offices, some of which were not popular with the development staff. Honey spent much of her time liasing with Boon Corp., the company that awarded the large contract. Though she never truly became part of the team, she did make amends and explained her unique method of project management shortly before leaving SeaLeft.

After leaving SeaLeft Software, Honey worked with Boon Corp. for a time. This included meeting with Max Tomson from SeaLeft to discuss new system specifications that Boon Corp. required. Honey had been hired to oversee the project from Boon Corp.'s side.

By the time Honey had finished her contract with Boon Corp., the management at SeaLeft Software was in disarray. Ralph Black had gone into semi-retirement and was never around and Victoria Teyl had left SeaLeft to pursue a singing career. At the request of Karen Andinus, Honey returned to become the general manager of SeaLeft Software. It is a position she's held ever since.

At the wedding of Karen and her long-time boyfriend Gareth Flect, Honey revealed that she had played an instrumental part in getting Karen and Gareth together. Karen was surprised but appreciative of Honey's efforts.

Behind-the-scenes:
Honey was introduced into the Cubes strip in its third year to shake things up a bit for the other characters. Things such as Honey getting the other characters' names wrong and Max's insistence on always calling her Miss Klim were intended to highlight how she was not part of the team. At the end of the third year, Honey's true goals were revealed to be far less nefarious than had been indicated through the rest of the year.

Honey's last name, when spelled backwards is "Milk". The idea was that the large contract from Boon Corp. would seem to be a huge opportunity as if coming from "the land of milk and honey."

Honey returned to the semimonthly comic as a regular cast member in year six. This was necessitated by the fact that the other management personnel, Ralph and Veronica, were unavailable due to story reasons.
