Cubes - Issue 3
The Road Not Taken

Introduction
It's funny how some ideas are able to take on a life of their own. Such was the case with one of the story threads from Cubes issue #2. In that story, Veronica and Christie accidentally find themselves in a song and dance number at one of Los Mula's outlet malls. This idea rattled around in my mind and made me wonder what the people of the Cubes world would think of Veronica's song singing stylings.

At about the same time I was launching into Year 5 of the regular semimonthly Cubes strip. One of the key threads for Year 5 involved Veronica becoming the manager of SeaLeft Software. Despite her best efforts, the job proved more demanding than expected and Veronica was left facing burn out and bad hair days. It didn't take much to tie in the singing thread with where Veronica's character had evolved to.

Such is the stage coming into the third full length Cubes comic. The SeaLeft regulars laugh, cry, sing, reminisce and there may even be a pirate or two in there as well. Rest assured, this is not the end of Veronica's story and there are big things in store for the future of the Cubes.

Stay frosty!
